Jet fighter pilot jailed for selling state secrets to Russia

A former fighter jet pilot has been jailed for five years by a court in The Hague for trying to sell state secrets to a Russian diplomat.

The man, known as Chris V wanted €500,000 for the information he was trying to sell the court was told. According to news agency ANP, his contact was a military attaché at the Russian embassy in The Hague.

The pair were arrested in a restaurant in Scheveningen in March, ANP said. The Russian has never been questioned in connection with the case because he has diplomatic immunity.

It is not clear what information was actually passed on to Russia, Nos television said.
